AGPS Tracker-Om 1.8

A-GPS TrackerOm, formerly known as A-GPS Tracker++, offers users the ability to utilize the tracker without an internet connection through offline maps. This application also supports the generation of contour lines and includes various GPX editing functionalities.

MAPS: The geographic maps employed by A-GPS TrackerOm are derived from the OpenStreetMap project, which are offline and freely available (“©Openstreetmap-contributors”). These maps are stored in files with the “.map” extension and can be downloaded directly within the application. Upon the first launch, users will find an empty archive, prompting them to select and download the map corresponding to their country. Additional map files for other countries can also be stored in the local directory as needed.

CONTOUR LINES: Contour lines are automatically generated by A-GPS TrackerOm when a user long-presses a point on the map. The generation process relies on Digital Elevation Map (DEM) data files, which offer precise altitude mapping of the terrain (with a resolution of one point every 30 meters) and are provided by NASA. These DEMs encompass all land between 56 degrees south and 60 degrees north. Similar to the maps, the DEM archive will initially be empty, and to load a DEM file, users must long-press a location on the map. If a DEM is unavailable for that area, users will be prompted to download it from the A-GPS TrackerOm server. When a valid DEM is present in the area, contour lines will be displayed around the selected point.

ELEVATION: It is noteworthy that elevation is among the least accurate data provided by GPS systems and may experience unexpected fluctuations. The utilization of DEMs provides a more stable alternative for calculating elevation based on geographic position.

GPX EDITING: Users can modify previously created GPX tracks in several ways:

1. Merge two tracks by loading one initial track and subsequently adding another.
2. Modify or delete a Point Of Interest (POI) by selecting it for deletion or altering its name and description.
3. Add a new POI assigned either to a specific point on the map or along a mapped track.
4. Save the resulting modified track to a new GPX file.
